About.
Prudence Bonds is a self-taught visual artist based in Washington, DC—the same city in which she was raised since infancy. Since 2023, she has served as Exhibition Chair for the Washington, DC chapter of the Women’s Caucus for Art, a national member organization unique in its multidisciplinary, multicultural membership of artists, art historians, and museum professionals. In her role, Prudence led the chapter in receiving record numbers of exhibition submissions as well as coordinating multiple exhibitions each year. Prudence directs all exhibition programs which include working hand-in-glove with jurors, artists, and venues.
As a teenager, she took courses at the Corcoran School of Art for figure drawing, photography, and film development and began painting consistently more than ten years later in 2001. After years of participating in several group and juried exhibitions, and selling and auctioning work, Prudence went on a creative hiatus in early 2010. After a decade-long pause from painting, she is now reconnecting with her work, one brush stroke at a time.
